The purple is a true purple (looked like it might be a little bright to me in the photo). He wears a men’s 12.5 shoe, and they fit if we put them in sideways and then facing opposite directions (tried to show in the photos how we do it). Lots of room for a basketball, water bottles, and more in the other pockets. He was thrilled! He’s only used it one time to take to practice, so we’ll see how it holds up. It seems to be of decent quality though, so fingers crossed!

The material and build quality are great. The zippers seem durable and smooth. However once I loaded shoes and a basketball this bag was maxed out. There is a zipper that provides storage behind the basketball area. The problem is, the ball uses all of the space. In my opinion it is a design flaw. Would probably work better with a smaller sized ball and smaller shoes.

My son is a sporting kind of kid and it seems like he’s always toting a ball around. I’ve been looking for a bag like this, that would also fit his cleats so he wouldn’t be dropping things so often. This backpack is PERFECT for toting balls (we’ve used it for soccer, basketball, and footballs) but sadly does not fit his cleats. Granted he wears a size 14 shoe at the moment, and I don’t think that’s a size most 14-year-olds wear. So, do take that into account. He’s been using that slot to store his gloves, shin guards, and elbow protectors since he cant use it for his sports shoes. He is HARD on bags – and is known to break zippers in no time at all. I am impressed that he hasn’t blown through any of the zippers on this backpack – and his teachers are too! That speaks volumes as to the quality of both the stitching and backpack design!

3 Major Dislikes:
1. The tab hides under the plastic piece so it’s hard to grab. North Face Jester pull tab for reference
2. When the ball is in, it’s hard to access the compartment. Only way to access is to squeeze my hand through or to remove the ball. Super inconvenient.
3. Lastly, if you already have things in the bag, you can’t put the shoe into the shoe compartment unless you flip the bag upside down. Also, the “vent” hole is SUPER tiny. It’ll barely air out.

This backpack looks cool and the concept is good however, my sons school doesn’t have lockers so they have to carry everything in their backpack. My son also plays basketball so the area for the ball was smart. Once we put the ball in and some folders and binder, there was no room for his laptop or lunch box. Item was returned.

I ordered this bag for my son’s travel basketball use. It is actually larger than I expected it to be based on some other reviews. He has plenty of room for his basketball shoes (men’s size 11.5), uniform warm ups, extra socks, water bottle and a full sized basketball. He said this is the best basketball bag he has had. The quality is great and the appearance is outstanding. You cannot beat this bag for the cost!
